Capricornus

Taken from Savoy, MA during the RAC Summer Star Party. Camera was a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. Exposure was 30 minutes at f/2.8. The original had a noticeable gradient due to light pollution from Springfield, some 40 miles away. Since this area of the sky has little nebulosity and is outside the Milky Way, a median filter was used to extract and remove the gradient.
