NASA Earth Observatory Image. Lohar Crater sits atop the Deccan Traps basalt flows that date to about 65 million years ago, but the crater itself is between 30,000 and 50,000 years old. It measures about 1,830 meters across, 150 meters deep, and the rim rises 20 meters about the surrounding terrain.
